Donegal Sports Partnership in association with Donegal VEC, Donegal County Council, IRD Milford,  
Fáilte Ireland and The Health Service Exceutive West have launched the 1st. Donegal Walking Week. The seminar was set in the tranquil surroundings of the new Boathouse, Gartan Outdoor Education Centre about 12 miles from Letterkenny, speakers included;

Ali Hubbard
(Scotland) speaking on; Getting communities involved in walking and the Scottish experience.
Cormac MacDonnell (Irish Sports Council), The Irish National Trails Strategy and its relevence to the development of community based trails.
Tanya Comber-Rait (Irish Heart Foundation), Walking and Health - Developing the Slí na Sláinte model in Donegal.
Paddy O’Mahoney (Fáilte Ireland), Guidance and Development of looped walks.
Bill Murphy (Coillte), Developing Trails in Forests.
Vincent McAlinden, Leave No Trace.
Jeremy Smith (Donegal Co. Council, Walking Officer), Where to go from here, making things happen in Donegal.
