Club Development Grants Scheme 2009

Sixty sports clubs in County Donegal recently benefited from small grants awarded under the 2009 Club Development Grant Scheme.  The annual awards saw approximately €25,000 allocated to sports in Donegal to support further education and training and participation initiatives throughout the County.  Since 2005 approximately €120,000 has been allocated by Donegal Sports Partnership through the Club Development Grant Schemes with funding investments in grassroots sports programmes through volunteer training and programmes which encourage greater participation in sport especially among the low participation groups.  This funding has also been instrumental in supporting the establishment of new sports clubs such as, canoeing, rugby, athletics and badminton in County Donegal.
